So needless to say, I neglected to check the weath

So needless to say, I neglected to check the weather before heading out on my walk from Seacliff along the Hallet Cove Boardwalk yesterday and I got a thorough soaking.

What struck me during my walk was how few other people were outside. Maybe I’m the crazy one and that’s ok by me.

What I love about times that require our absolute 100% attention like my walk required of me, in order to step safely and to not lose my hat, is that nature is guiding us to let go of all distractions and instead be mindful in each and every moment. We are not seperate, but we are interconnected and harmonious with nature.

Another lesson that comes from us striving outside our usual comfort zone is that we build our resilience muscles.

It’s only water and wind after all and I know that the sun will come out to shine again and that I’m fortunate to have a dry home that is filled with dry clothes I can change into. ❤️#practicegratitudeindifficultmoments #gratefultobealive

Rather than trying to blitz all your self-care in a single afternoon, it’s important to find even a few brief moments each day to look after yourself.

Here are some quick stretches you can easily work into your daily routine to help maintain flexibility and mobility.

Hip Circles
Standing on one leg, gently swing the opposite leg in circles imagining you are passing your leg over a fence. Do 20 circles in each direction before switching legs. As your flexibility improves, you can progressively increase the size of the circles.

Torso Twists
Stand tall with your legs shoulder-width apart and rest your hands on your waist. Leading with your shoulders twist your body 90 degrees, holding for a moment on each side.

Neck Rotations
Sitting or standing with a tall straight back, keep your chin level and turn your head to the left and right, holding for 15 seconds.
